In 2018, SSCOBA donated Rs 1,434,208/- to the college for various initiations and projects. This was done with the help of Old Boys and Well Wishers.

We would like to thank Old Sumangalian, SSCOBA Exco member Mr. Dinesh Abhayapala for donating Rs 90,000/- for the Sports Development Project and to supply a steel cupboard to Principal’s office.

Mr. Dinesh had earlier donated Rs 40,000/- towards various projects of SSCOBA.

We would like to thank Old Sumangalian Mr. Dinusha Uthpala Upasena from 98 Group for donating Rs 60,000/- for the Sportmeet project.

We would like to thank Old Sumangalian Mr. Lathika Salinda Alwis of 98 Group for donating Rs 30,000/- for SSCOBA Sports Development Fund.

Mr. Lathika donated Rs 120,000/- for the College Sportsmeet and for the College Primary Section Development Project earlier.

We would like to thanks our distinguished old boy Mr. Senaka Thotagamuwa living in Australia for donating Rs 100,000/- for the SSCOBA Scholarship fund in the memory of his late father Mr. L. T. Thotagamuwa.

On behalf of Mr. Senaka, his brother Mr. Amal Thotagamuwa handed over the donation to the SSCOBA President Mr. Kithsiri Silva on 12th May 2019, at the SSCOBA Exco meeting.

We would like to thank Sameera Madushan from 2005 Batch for donating Rs 25,000/- for the Sports Meet Special Fund of the SSCOBA at the last SSCOBA Exco meeting held on 25th November 2018.

SSCOBA handed over new scholarships for students at the SSCOBA November Exco meeting. Students from Primary to Upper School and students who have been selected to Universities for higher studies have receievd scholarships.

The SSCOBA recently felicitated and rewarded the top performing students of the Grade 5 Scholarship Examinations at the SSCOBA monthly Exco meeting held on November 2018.

Sri Sumangala College Old Boys’ Association proudly presents “Golden Melodies with Super Stars” – a musical miscellany featuring some of the renowned artists who represent the golden era of 1970s at Nelum Pokuna on 05th February 2017 from 6pm onwards.

The concert will be featured by famous artists in the calibre of Keerthi Pasquel, Annesley Malewana, Indrani Senarathne, Shyami Fonseka, Indrani Senaratne, Paul Fernando, Nihal Nelson, Indrani Perera, Sunil Perera and Sameera Senaratnes. The music will be composed by the famous “Super Stars” led by the veteran musician – Sarath De Alwis. The event will be compered by Kelum Srimal.

The funds raised from this concert will be solely utilized for the development projects of Sri Sumangala College and for the proposed museum of this century old institute.

“Golden Melodies with Super Stars” would be an ideal opportunity for the music lovers who prefer the taste of 70s music. The event line up has been carefully prepared, covering a vast range of choices.
