‘සුමඟුල් රිවිබල’ Phase 1 of the Solar Project was successfully completed
‘සුමඟුල් රිවිබල’ Solar Project done by SSCOBA was successfully completed and handed over to the Alma Mater recently. 10KV electricity will be generated under phase one of the project and it will help immensely to reduce the electricity cost of the school. The project was done at a cost of Rs.2.4Mn. This has been done in line with the Centenary Celebration program of SSCOBA.
This project was successfully coordinated and conducted by the subcommittee led by Vice President Chamath Dias and its members, Vice President Dilika Wijayasinha and Sameera Gunathilake.
Also, we should mention the incomparable work done by Treasurer Dinesh Katipearachchi to make this project a success.
Then Joint Secretary Nimesha Nawalage, Vice Presidents Chamara Peiris, and Nuwan Ranamayuru’s support for this project is also commendable.
We should appreciate the highest financial contribution done to this project by the Vice President, Captain Kasun Hewage with Rs 500,000/-.
Sumangalians Kalum Rathnaweera from Australia, Yehen Shamith Athukorala from Singapore, and Akesh Deheragoda from UAE did a remarkable contribution to completing the funding requirements.
Also, we would like to thank the SSCOBA Dubai Branch President Nandika Ekanayake and its members as well as Sri Sumangala College 1996 Group for their meritorious financial contribution to get this project a success.
Initial technical support was given by the Sumangalian Eng. Thiwanka Wimalasuriya and ongoing technical support were given by the Sumangalian, Eng. Pradeep Sanjeewa from the 1996 group.

The legal agreement between the solar provider Solitra Power (Pvt) Ltd and SSCOBA was done & completed by the Sumangalian, attorney at law, Nuwan Gamage.
