Master S. P. Sahan Madusanka is the proud winner of the T. Sarath Fernando Memorial award for 2022 for his outstanding results at the advanced level examination in 2021. The prize, a brand new laptop was awarded to the student at a function held at the college on 19th November 2022 with the participation of the family members of the late Mr. Sarath Fernando, the Principal Mr. Niluka Weerasinghe, the President of SSCOBA Mr. Aravinda Perera, Joint Secretaries and Treasurer of SSCOBA, and members of the Executive Committee. The family of the late Mr. Sarath Fernando and SSCOBA wish all the very best for the future of S. P. Sahan Madusanka.

The SSCOBA would like to thank Mr. Bingumal Thewarathanthri, the son of the late Mr. Sarath Fernando, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank of Sri Lanka, and his family members for their continuous effort in awarding this prize annually.

The Sri Lanka Philatelic Bureau of the Department of Posts issued a Commemorative Stamp and First Day Cover to mark the centenary celebrations of the Sri Sumangala College Old Boys’ Association, on 05^th of November 2022 at the Centenary Celebrations held at College Old Grounds in Nalluruwa.

The cover was ceremonially presented to the President of Sri Sumangala College Old Boys’ Association, Mr Aravinda Perera.

Senior officials of the Department of Post, Joint Secretaries of SSCOBA Mr Dhanuka Kottahachchi and Mr Amila Nawalage, and the Treasurer of the SSCOBA Mr Dinesh Ketipearachchi joined this memorable occasion.

Meritorious act of Alms Giving for 100 monks organized by Sri Sumangala College Old Boys’ Association in lieu of its 100th anniversary was successfully held at the College Auditorium on Sunday, October 30, 2022, with the participation of maha sangha led by Ven. Prof. Kahapola Sugatharatana thero – the Chief Incumbent of Amarapura Chapter and the Chief Prelate of Rankoth Viharaya, Panadura.  The Principal, teachers, old boys, parents and students also took part in this event.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone who contributed in numerous ways to make this meritorious act a success.

The annual Blood Donation Camp organized by Sri Sumangala College Old Boys’ Association (SSCOBA) in lieu of its 100th anniversary was successfully held at the College premises on 29th October 2022.

This has been conducted with the collaboration of the medical staff of Kethumathi Maternity Hospital. A large number of donors including old boys, their family members and well-wishers donated blood at this camp.

SSCOBA takes this opportunity to extend its heartfelt gratitude to all blood donors for their priceless contributions.

Old Boys’ Association of Sri Sumangala College donated 200 chairs to the college auditorium as part of its centenary celebrations.

The college auditorium is used for many events and especially for seminars for our college students and outside colleges and we hope this will help to accommodate students in the auditorium more effectively and comfortably.

We would like to thank each and everyone who was part of this project and helped us to get this done on time.

විචාරශීලී පරපුරක් නිර්මාණය කිරීම උදෙසා පානදුරා වාදයේ නූතන සම්ප්‍රාප්තිය ලෙසින් පානදුර ශ්‍රී සුමංගල විද්‍යාලයීය ආදි ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයට සියවසක් පිරීම නිමිත්තෙන් සංවිධානය කළ “සිහනද 2022” අන්තර් පාඨශාලීය සමස්ත ලංකා විවාද තරගාවලිය සදහා දිවයිනේ පළාත් 7 ක් දිස්ත්‍රික්ක 23 ක් නියෝජනය කරමින් සහභාගී වු කණ්ඩායම් අතරින් අවසන් මහා වාග් සංග්‍රාමය කොළඹ රාජකීය විද්‍යාලය සහ කොළඹ ලුම්බිණි විද්‍යාලය අතර 2022 ඔක්තෝම්බර් මස 24 දා විද්‍යාලයිය සෝමතිලක විතාරණ ශ්‍රවණාගාරයේදී පැවැත්විය.

එහිදී ශූරතාවය කොළඹ රාජකීය විද්‍යාලය ද අනුශුරතාවය කොළඹ ලුම්බිණි විද්‍යාලය ද හිමිකර ගත්හ.

මෙම තරගාවලිය සාර්ථක කරගැනීම සදහා විද්‍යාලයිය විදුහල්පතිතුමා ඇතුළු ආචාර්ය මණ්ඩලය ද කථික හා විවාද සංගමය ද ආදී විවාදකයින් ද ආදිශිෂ්‍යයින් ද දායක විය. එහිදී ආදිශිෂ්‍ය ප්‍රසාන්ත මාගින ආරච්චි මහතා විසින් විශේෂ අනුග්‍රාහක දායකත්වයක් ලබාදෙන ලදී.
