Sumangalian Justice K. Priyantha Fernando has been appointed to the Court of Appeal

We are immensely proud to announce that Sumangalian Justice K. Priyantha Fernando has been appointed to the Court of Appeal and took oath before the President on March 11, 2025, at the Presidential Secretariat.

This is a historic moment for Sri Sumangala College, as he becomes the first old boy of our esteemed college to be appointed as a Court of Appeal Judge.

Justice Priyantha Fernando began his primary education at Sri Sumangala College before joining Royal College, Colombo, after excelling in the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination. He is the brother-in-law of our Immediate Past President Mr. Aravinda Perera.

We extend our heartiest congratulations to him on this well-deserved achievement and wish him all the best in his new role!
